Lemuel Moss served as president of Indiana University 1875-1884. Born in Boone County, Kentucky, Moss was a printer by trade but also worked as a pastor before entering higher education. In 1865, Moss became professor of theology at the University of Lewisburg (now Bucknell), where he remained until 1868.
